Spheekas - Peter

Salem - Bethany Nicole Spheekas and Daniel Lawrence Peter were married January 26 at Grace Episcopal Church in Salem. Rev. Deborah Phillips officiated.

A reception at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem followed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Laurie and James Spheekas of Haverhill. The groom is the son of Laurel Peter of North Attleboro and the late Edward Peter.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a sleeveless soft lace and taffeta modified mermaid gown with hand beading, Swarovski crystals and lace appliques.

She carried a bouquet of blue delphinium, blue hydrangeas and white roses accented with crystal beads.

The matrons of honor were Becca Carver and Kirsten Swensen, friends of the bride.

The bridal attendants were Kristi Spheekas and Pauline Spheekas, sisters-in-law of the bride, and Alexandria Spheekas, sister of the bride.

The best men were Kevin Peter, brother of the groom, and Kyle Panciera, friend of the groom.

The ushers were Daniel Spheekas and Christopher Spheekas, brothers of the bride, and John McLaughlin, friend of the groom.

The bride graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. She earned a master's degree in social work from Wheelock College.

She is a social worker at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

The groom earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

He is a benefits specialist at The Whitehead Institute in Cambridge.

After a wedding trip to Costa Rica, where the couple went ziplining, toured rainforests and visited natural hot springs, they make their home in Haverhill.
